How to get fake nails without the damage?

I dont want the damage. Ive gotten fake nails tons of times and they always ruin your nails so bad. I tried the ones you do yourself and glue on and they fell off in like a day and looked bad. I was wondering if theirs a type of fake nails, that you get in the salon, NOT THE AT HOME GLUE ONS, that won't damage your nails? How to get fake nails without the damage?
you can get the glue on ones, but if you buff your nails after they come off, there wont be any damageHow to get fake nails without the damage?
You could get fake ones at like the drug store. It doesn't include glue, it uses the double sided tape which doesn't leave anything on your nails when you take them off. And your nails wont be weak and brittle when you take these ones off.

I know I always hate when I take the fake ones off, which hurts too., and there all soft and squishy.

How much do fake nails cost at the salon?

Well I'm planning on getting some fake nails so how much do they usually cost? The acrylics....How much do fake nails cost at the salon?
$25 in U.S. typically but they end up ruining ur nails. ive never done it but came closeHow much do fake nails cost at the salon?
For good nails done by a good technician who won't cause you pain, and ruin your nails in the process? About $40 or more for a full set of acrylics - usually more like $45-$50. You get what you pay for, and if you spend only $25 on a full set, you'll get your money's worth, and thats not much...
It depends on where you go. Cheap ';off the road'; places... usually $18-$30. It depends on what you get, and if you get them painted or get a design on them

Good Luck ;)

  • What type of fake nails look most sporty and healthy?

I'm thinking of getting fake nails, but I dont want them to look long and preppy, easy to paint nails. i want ones that look real, look like i keep them healthy, but still keep them short enough to play sports, and be active. is there a certain length, or type of fake nails i should get??What type of fake nails look most sporty and healthy?
My suggestion is to go get accrylic nails from an actual nail salon. Allow them to apply them of course.

Now you won't be able to paint they, but they won't break off during sports and active type things.

I would suggest getting them just a tad past the end of your finger and having the nail person do a french manicure. That looks very healthy and classy.

Fake nails that dont cover the full nail? just the tip?

So I wanna get fake nails but I don't wanna have to keep redoing them when they grow out so my question is: Is there a type of fake nails that just goes on the tip of the nail and doesn't cover the full nail? Like most that ive seen cover the entire nail and are just longer then your real nail so they look longer but i want one that attaches to the tip or something! Any ideas?Fake nails that dont cover the full nail? just the tip?
Yes they are called party tips. The only problem is is that they are not long lasting, may last you a week, but most break off after a couple of days, hence the name party tips. Designed to last for the party and thats it iykwim.

Have anyone seen fake nails with colored tips?

has anyone seen acrylic nails (sort of like french with white tips) but instead of white tips, they were colored? do you think this looks trashy?Have anyone seen fake nails with colored tips?
Hmmm, thrashy? I don't think so. BUT, it takes a very highly skilled nail technician to do them, AND make them look really good. Not many nail technicians have the skills required to do these, and do them properly. So yes, if a nail tech doesn't have the skills necessary to do a good job on them, they can easily look trashy to some people. It all depends on the technician.

Take a look at these pics. They are some good examples of what I am talking about. They are entirely hand crafted - no airbrushing, or stickers or whatever else.

For some really great looking nails, look at these. But, take a look at like at least 10-15 pics because they get better as you get further into the slideshow (there are 94 in all). These are nails that were done by a woman in Poland who has won many nail competitions. You are not likely to find someone who can do this type of work at your local nail salon. These are quite exceptional nails and again, each and every one of these is entirely handcrafted.

Just my opinion...Have anyone seen fake nails with colored tips?
It can look trashy, especially if they're poorly done, or too long. You want to get actual colored tips or have them hand painted--airbrush often looks really uneven and wears off around the edges. I had a nail tech once that special ordered light pink and lavender tips for me, and the color was really subtle, and it looked really nice and elegant.

For Halloween this year, I got acrylics and had the tips painted bright magenta to match my costume. Some people probably thought it looked trashy, but they weren't super long, and I actually got tons of compliments on them, and I loved them.
    I really don't like them.
as far as i know its refered to as ';tropical'; i get my nails done that way every time, i have xmas red tips with a black stripe and natural colored nail beds right now :) no its dont look trashy
i think it is fashionable. the new trend this season, per tyra banks on her tv show with the models for the new season, are the black nails with white tips.
No, it doesn't look trashy! I use to get my nails done with the tips pink with glitter! I got a lot of compliments on them. They looked way cute!
they have acrylic nails that you can get air brushed what ever color you want! the white tips look very finished and clean. but ive gotten mine cut short with colored tips and a design. for instance, for the 4th of july, i had red tips with silver white and blue designs...it's fun for occasions like that.
trashy for sure.Arnt french is enough??
i did those once...hated it. looks trashy..got them redone and now i stick with french.
looks trashy better do it at home with reg. nail polish.
I do, I think the normal French manicure is much cleaner and refined.
Yer i seen them, you can get them in beauty stores like boots or superdrug. They look quite funky and different.
My best friend does that its SO cute!! She has the tips red right now for the holiday I like when mine are black though or white! I don't think it looks trashy i think it looks like you have your own since of fashion instead of following the normal trends its good to be yourself so if you like it then do it!

What is the best kind of fake nails to get?

I love having my nails look nice, but I hate them constantly chipping and having to go get them done again every week. I would love to get fake ones, but everyone that gets them says that they ruin your real nails, what is the best kind that look really nice, are strong and durable, and will last for a while? Thanks :)What is the best kind of fake nails to get?
Go get UV nails or Acrylic. My mom and sister LOVE the UV but they are a little more expensive. I go with the acrylic because they are cheaper. Just go back every few weeks to get them trimmed and filled in. The easiest way to keep them from damaging your real nails...have them taken off by the same people that put them on. Also if you want your real nails to grow out have them put some acrylic over your real nail with no add on. To take that off just soak your nails in pure acetone (found at Wal-mart, a big bottle runs you $2) for a WHILE. Then use one of those 7 in1 nail buffer things to make your nails look better1What is the best kind of fake nails to get?
They don't ruin your nails, you just need to take a break every once in awhile and let your nails breath ya know. Mine never chip or break off. I just get clear tips, that way I can get them designed or I can get a white tip airbrushed on.

I bought the stuff from Sally's so I can do fill ins myself, jus don't always have the time, they are faster then me lol
nailene ,, i have just had them on and they stick on so well i tried with all my strength to get them off to see how good they were and they wouldnt come off ! recommend !!

How to remove fake nails from a salon?

I have acetone to remove them with, but

    A) I don't know how long to soak them

    and

    B) I don't know how to remove them after they've been soaked. btw i don't have an orange stick or anything like that and its christmas so there are no stores open to go get one.

THANKS!How to remove fake nails from a salon?
you just soak them for 5 minutes then push off all of the soft acrylic, then soak them for another 5 minutes ... and continue until you get them off. If you don't have an orange wood stick - you can use a file, anything really, a popsicle stick, a business card, a butter knife ..... it doesn't matter. Hope you get them off soon, by the way. Merry ChristmasHow to remove fake nails from a salon?
All you have to do is soak your nails in acetone until they start falling of

TIP:I usually pour the acetone in some really hot water than i put my nails flat down on the bowl than i wait to they fell soft then I take one hand at a time out then just start pulling it out. if they don't want to came off don't force them just put them back in the bowl.
around 20ish minutes and then they should slip off

    UNLESS

the glue the salon used is super strong, then they may not come off easily!

    good luck!

hope you had a good christmas! xx

How do you get left over glue off from fake nails?

I got those nails that you glue on by yourself.

I took them off today and there is crusty glue on my nails.

How can I get it off quickly? How do you get left over glue off from fake nails?
bath them in hot waterHow do you get left over glue off from fake nails?
soak your nails in some nail polish remover. or file it off. filing is awful for your nails but it works pretty quick. good luck getting glue off can be a pain
use finger nail polish remover it should take it right off
try soaking em in hot water

thats how i usually get my nails off

    and it never leaves glue

    so maybe that will work
    run them under hot water.

then pour some nail polish remover in a bowl and hold your fingers inside for a couple minutes.

you can usually wipe the rest off with a towel after doing so.

    works every time!
    use nail polish remover
try putting ur hands in hot water and just let them soak for a little while then u can get the glue off with ur finger nails
Try running it over hot water.
Try acetone, you can buy it really cheap at any hardware store.
    nailpolish remover acetone
get some ascetone at cvs or walgreens or anywhere and soak the glue off in a bowl.
use the nail polish remoer with acetone
100% acetone will take it right off - you will get it in a chemist :)
    Alcohol and polish remover.
    rubbing alcohaul w/ cotton balls.

run against nail, than rinse with water.

    hope that helps :)
    Hot water
I'm surprised you got those things to work, I've never had such luck with fake nails!
Nail polish remover works.. Theres a kind that takes off fake nails which would work for taking off the glue.

To do it quickly just rub it off with a sponge thing or tissue with the remover.
well you can basically pick it off but it will take a day or 2 for it to completly come off unless you take a LONG bath and pick it off right wen u get out.
    its really hard.

but you could try to do it with your fingers.

or just go to the nail salon and they can do it for you.
soak your finger tips in nail polish remover..it will make it come off very easily
Here is an idea. I found this on a web page.

Put a heating pad on the table, drape a towel over it, (low heat) pour some acetone in a glass bowl (not plastic--it will melt it) stick your hand in and cover with a towel. Rub your fingers over your nails while you're soaking and that will help. Glue isn't as stong a bond as the acrylic, so it won't take as long to soak off as the nails did... Good luck!
boil some water, let it cool till its COMFORTABLY hot then put your fingers in the water soak for 3 mins.
    use a torch!
take a nail file and do it that way
    nail polsih remover
soak your nails in nail polish remover
Try using nail polisher remover and also a nail clippers to get it off once it's wet from the polish. Also, an orange stick, it's a nail product. I used to wear the fake ones like that and it worked really well. Best of luck to you.
pick at it for ages and the moisturize :)
    soak in acetone (polish remover)

and soak in warm water for a few.
hot water and nail polish remover and a wash cloth

    soak hands in hot water

then but some nail polish remover on wash cloth and start dissolving the glue off the nail

    good luck!!

  • If have fake nails on and just bought a paraffin wax machine. Is it a bad idea to dip my hands in them?

Will they loosen the nails? If have fake nails on and just bought a paraffin wax machine. Is it a bad idea to dip my hands in them?
It depends on your nails. If you have polish on them, it will peel your polish off. If you have pink and white acrylic it will not hurt them one little bit. It will not loosen your nails. If have fake nails on and just bought a paraffin wax machine. Is it a bad idea to dip my hands in them?
yeah I dont think i would dip them in the parrafin it proabably woulnt loosen them but fake nails are not very clean alot of stuff might be hideing under there and that stuff might stick to your parrafin and bacteria likes warm unless you change the parrafin everytime you use it or if you clean your nails very well with like a nail brush and antibacterial soap then you might be ok.
i wouldn't dip them in if i was you
    Oh God dont do itt!!!!!!

finger nail polish removerHow would you take off fake nails without it hurting?
DO NOT RIP OR BITE THEM OFF!!!!! Either go to the salon to have them removed. Or get some acetone from a beauty supply store and soak them until they are soft and can come off. The acetone will melt the acrylics so they can be removed. Biting/ripping them off will hurt and cause damage to your natural nail bed and can result in infections and such.
i had to rip mine off with the help of sharp metal utensils

    not the best way haha

Try putting some peroxide under them. See if you can get it to boil and that should help to work the dirt out.
    take the nails off!
soak it in warm water in shampoo.. n thn clean wid cotton on a tooth pik. or the flat side of metal filer.
    a toothpick might help.

What was the first occassion you ever got fake nails ?

When was the first time you ever either bought fake nails to do yourself or had them done at the salon ? Press on or glue or salon ?

I was 15 and remember they were the Lee nails I got when I went shopping with my aunt. I'm 28 now and think I have been keeping them done ever since that time. What was the first occassion you ever got fake nails ?
my wedding. What was the first occassion you ever got fake nails ?
It was for my high school graduation. I got them done at a nearby salon. I kept getting them done for about a year, and I was never satisfied with the results. Salons hated me because I was very picky and I always demanded nail art.

So finally I went to beauty school during last summer, got my license, and I become one myself. It not only saves me money, but I can make money by doing them on others ;)
i got mine done like 6 wks ago for the first time for my 8th grade graduation. they were done at the salon...gelld i think. not acrylic. they were purple and yellow (the tips) (my school colors) and i had a flower with a clear little stud at the center on each index finger.
I was 7 years old and I went to Limited Too and saw pink camouflage fake nails with flowers on them :) They were glue, and really cute my mom let me use them for fun.

I am 13 now and have only used fake nails twice.
I was probably 12 when I got the cheapy glue-on ones (but I haven't used them since)

I got my first fake nails at a salon before I was in my brother's wedding when I was 20 and then again for my wedding at 21.
an 8th grade prom i was invited to. I put on acrilics for the first time and i was in 7th grade

For the put ons i was like 5 and i used to put them on with my best friend for fun lol
Prom my freshman year(14 years old).

They were just the kind that I glued on myself.

But then for prom my sophomore year(15 years old) I went to a salon and got them professionally done.
i was 12 and my mom just made a load of money and she treated me to some bio sculpture nails, they were amazing but just a bit too price to get done evey month. still ive stuck with bio because its so gooood
i dont know how old i was , i think it was for a school disco or something, they where jus plain french manicure type nails x
    I Never got fake nails.

My nails were always long lol.
When i was 15, i got them done for my big party.I also got my toes done
I was 10 or 11 for sixth grade

    At a salon

How long can you wear fake nails for?

2 months? the ones you get done at a salon. How long can you wear fake nails for?
getting my nails done is like a bi- weekly thing .. i get them filled in every other tuesday! but i've had this set on for atleast 8 months now .. and they still look good, as long as you get them filled in as needed! How long can you wear fake nails for?
U can do whenever. My sister got them she kept them in for 3 months.
getting fake nails can really mess your real nails up, so it's not a good idea to wear them for to long or get them done a lot. if i were u just wear them for about few weeks then let them grow off it self but clip them each time just like your real nails so u don't mess your real nail up under it.
I wear them for about 3-5 months (it also depend what kind you are getting gel? acrylic? solar? diamond?) and then take them off and let my nails breath for 2 weeks then get them re-done again. In those 3-5 months I get them filled every 2 weeks. There is no limit on how long you can wear just be careful about lifting because when they are filled and they have lifted it causes air pockets which is no good :)
2 months ! HA. yea rite.! try 2 weeks or less.! and thats with extra care.
2 months! HAHA, i wish, you need to get them filled every 2 weeks and should have them completly taken off and redone every month
well wen u first get them done,i think after 2 weeks u got to get them filled and keep doing that until u get tierd of them.
You can have them on as long as you want. There is no limit

I got fake nails today and my thumb and middle fingers hurt like crazy when i apply pressure?

The other fingers are fine, but like i text message non stop and use my thumbs and texting hurts.

should i remove them or give it a night and then give them the boot?

thanks!I got fake nails today and my thumb and middle fingers hurt like crazy when i apply pressure?
OUCH!! I forgot about that feeling!! Its normal for them to hurt the day and maybe even the day after getting them put on!!!

But it does go away, and your nails will feel fine. But that is one of the reasons i wont get fake nails...and cause my real nails look like crap after the fake ones are taken off!!

If texting hurts ya, cool it for awhile and give your nails a break!

Good luck!I got fake nails today and my thumb and middle fingers hurt like crazy when i apply pressure?
Give it a night, it usually hurts for a little while but eventually stops, my suggestion wouldbe to limit the texting because that will just irritate them more. :-]
The nail beds are most likely bruised from all the pressure, filing, and buffing they did to them today.

Lay off the test messaging. What is with everyone and this constant text messaging anyway?
my nails are always sore \after the first few days i have them on

i wouldnt take them off if i were u

I have never had a manicure before, I would just like to know because I bite my nails, and wasn't sure if they use your real nails.Manicures: Do they use fake nails or do they work with your real nails?
A fill is when you have to go back to the salon after a couple weeks for them to fill in acrylic into the nail that's grown out. Also, if you get a set of pink %26amp; whites, a French Acrylic manicure, you will have to get a back fill every 4 to 6 weeksManicures: Do they use fake nails or do they work with your real nails?
Manicures can be done with Both Fake or Work with Your own Nails Its Up to you
For a regular manicure they use your real nails.

If you want fake nails they charge extra and they don't automatically do that if you get a manicure.
They will use your real nails unless you ask for a 'full set.' Which means fake nails.
If you ask for acrylics, you get acrylics, other wise they use your nails.

How do I get my fake nails off?

Okay I got acrylic nails about 3-4 weeks ago. They are getting all chipped at the bottom. Is there a way to get them off without ripping them off?How do I get my fake nails off?
Soak your fake nails in pure 100% acetone. It is extremely flammable so be very careful. When the fake nails get soft, gently peel off the tip. If the whole tip doesn\'t come off, soak it again until the tips get soft enough to peel completely off. This is how the salon does it. You may have to use a metal nail file to pry the tip and filler completely off your regular nail, but be careful that you don\'t damage your natural nail.

Another way for how to remove fake nails is to take a couple of cotton balls, aluminum foil and nail polish remover. Rap the Aluminum foil around each finger with the cotton ball on top of your nail but put a ton of nail polish remover on the cotton ball. Then just sit for a couple of hours. The nail polish will eat away at the acrylic.

Another way for how to remove fake nails is trimming your hangnails; take off the clear coat with nail remover so that it is just the acrylic nail. Cut the nail off at both corners (make a pointy nail), soak your nails in acetone, and then peel off. If you cut the hangnails first, it won鈥檛 hurt. How do I get my fake nails off?
If you wear false nails, then one of the biggest perils can come when it comes to actually taking off the nails, as this can damage the real nails if not done carefully.

The fake nails can also be hard to remove - good at most times, but annoying when you actually want them to come off! Here\'s what to do.

First off, soak in nail polish remover until they are loose and start to peel. Otherwise you will hurt nails - certainly never, ever use brute force.

The bottom line is that you must just soak and wait. There is no other way. Also ensure that between uses of fake nails you allow the real nails to breathe for at least a couple of weeks.

I copied it word by word. Sorry
You D.I.Y you nail? otherwise you can go back to the place where you got your nail done to remove it. Or u can buy the nail glue remover to remove.
dip a cotton ball into some nail polish remover...rub around your nail with it, allowing it to have contact with where the nail begins and the other edges. keep doing so, and the glue will dissolve.
Fill a dish with nail polish remover and soak them in said nail polish remover for a few minutes. They will just dissolve. : ) Then just wipe off any residue left behind.
soak in Warm Water for about 20 to 30 minutes. then move to nail polish remover. you can then take a file and scrap them off.
you can go to the salon and they usally only charge 3-5 $ to take them off pain free %26amp; clean and trim your real nail .

a hassel and definetly a PAIN if you break one off

OUCHIs it a hassle to play volleyball with fake nails?
Now-a-days although the nails are looking Real, I personally had them for a wedding and people kept asking too see my nails, and they couldn't even tell that they were fake, I told them that they were fake and they burst out screaming things like holy $hit. ETC. But, I too play sports and even if you get shorter nails, the glue on the nails is pretty crappy and once it drys they pop off pretty easy, and playing sports with them is a huge nuisance! I personally say only do it if its for a special night or whatever, and once the night is over go home and put a lot of nail polish remover on them (this kinda shrivels them and they just disappear.) But don't even try to play sports with them, I did and one broke off and took my real nail with it. They are a MAJOR pain, and REALLY hurt when they rip out due to whatever reason, and trying to make them look real you have to put it somewhat under the skin around your nail, and it hurts SO bad, and after you get them off they have somewhat stretched the skin, and your real nails have glue on them for weeks after, and although they look good with the fake nail on, the real nail looks horrid after!
    no....
It definetly isn't worth it. I used to play and every practice me or other girs with fake nails would litterally break the entire nail off trying to dig a spike or set. It will mess you up very much.
don't get them when playing v-ball, just wait til' after the season
    don't do it.

fake nails look bad anyways. they're not attractive, just fake looking.

ah-- you can do it at home with acetone (nail polish remover) but it is MUCH easier to just go to a salon. They only charge a small fee and your nails will be much much healthier than if you do it yourself.
They Charge 拢10-拢15 to remove them in a salon, Just do it the same way as they do.

You need a friend, Acetone, from boots, hairdressing supply shop,

    Cotton wool pads, Baco foil

Cut pads in half and soak in acetone, wrap one half round you fake nail and cover with a piece of baco foil (keeps the acetone from evaporating) repeat on all fingers and wait 20 mins plus the nails go all gooey and can be pickeled off, its messy but thats how they do it in salons

    Cher xx
soak them in nail polish then start at the edges of the fake nail and stake piece by piece off till it comes off be careful it hurts i promise then when your done get nail protection to put on your nail will be thin. you wanna protect the nail.
Soak them in some Acetone based nail polish remover and that should help to almost melt them and they should pop right off w/ out doing any damage to your natural nail !
    nail polish remover
soak them in nail poish remover.

How much does it cost to get the fake nails?

Like at a nail place. I want to get a cool design. Or at least an awesome color tip.How much does it cost to get the fake nails?
It depends. Acrylic runs around 25 or so and Gel nails (which are better) are anywhere from 30-40. Designs start at about 5 dollars extra and then go up depending on if you want them on every finger or how extensive they are.How much does it cost to get the fake nails?
In 5th ave %26amp; 21st. its only $20 %26amp; the SOME designs r free! I always go there %26amp; they do it AMAZING!

My first time was a couple of years ago (I'm 22 now) and I bought some glue on nails and painted them black. My first time wearing black nail polish was out of curiosity. The nail polish and fake nails draw some odd looks, but I like gothic and dark nails even though I've got almost no interest in gothic stuff. What was the first occassion you ever got fake nails ?
I probably had my first do it yourself nails when i was 8???? now im 13 almost 14 and in around 2 days im getting my nails done professionaly and i am getting acrylic nails on. so i am so xcited and i am hopeing that i will like them. so it sounds like you had a good experience with them so hopefully i will like them :D

How do you get fake nails off?

I got acrylics for my junior prom. I tried to soak them in acetone but i didn't have enough to actually sit there. How else do I take them off?How do you get fake nails off?
soak them in acetone. How do you get fake nails off?
Just go to walmart and buy a bottle of nail polish remover WITH acetone.

Dump it in a shallow bowl and sit on the couch with ur hands in it and watch some tv..

Theyll flake off and loosen in like an hour and then you can cut them short and within a day or two theyll just come off themselves.

The nail polish remover is only a couple dollars.

If not you can get them taken off by a professional at a nail salon but theyll only do the same thing and it will cost a lot lot more money so just do it yourself haha.
get a couple of tissues and dip then in the acetone. then gently rub the tissue at the base of the nail until you can wiggle it and it slips off. then try soaking them in warm water.,

    hope i helped love (:
Soak them in warm water then you just have to pull them off. it WILL hurt :(
    hot water!

How do you remove fake nails at home?

I got tips, and I already pretty much ruined one nail.

But, I want to know how to remove them using stuff you have at home?

And will my one nail eventually like..grow out?

Because I think I like..damaged it. Ugh.How do you remove fake nails at home?
you have to buy finger nail polish remover and soak them for a pretty long time then use a nail file to remove the rest. then go get a manicureHow do you remove fake nails at home?
Well, your nail will eventually grow out, because they are always growing. How did you damage it?

To get the tips off you need to soak them in acetone which softens the acrylic overlay (if that is what you are using). You could probably use nail polish remover (soaking your nails in that). This allows you to remove the tips.
If you can afford it, better off to go to a professional to have them removed. If you do it yourself, you could really damage your nails underneath.
    soak in acetone
soak it in warm water... and yes, it should eventually grow out. nails are always growing. if you pulled off your real nail, it'll grow again from scratch.
Nails always grow back! Try soaking your nails in hot water and when they get looser, take them off.
acetone is regular nail polish remover as opposed to the kind that is made specially for fake nails. Your nail will eventually grow out. Just use acetone to remove the nail.
DO NOT remove them at home, there is to much risk of permanatly damaging your nails!

but if you absolutly must, go buy Pure Acatone and soak the nails in it. To make it work a bit faster get a hot bowl of water and pour the acetone in a small cup and place in the hot water. The heat of the water will warm the acetone and help pull the fake nail off a little faster. Then take a very smooth nail file and gently buff the nail till the residue is gone. Then wash your hands with soap and water and lotion up your hands. It will take a while, just have patientce, please! :)
pull them off, or wait for them to come off, there is no way to actually remove them, i know it sux. Next time just use stick ons.

    Hope this Helps!

    Marissa Cooper
You should probably just go to a professional to get them removed. A lot of the girls are suggesting to use nail polish remover acetone, but this isn't as strong as the kind used at the salon. Nail polish remover will soften it, but it'll be difficult to remove it still. Ripping them off will tear your nail beds, and it'll be difficult to touch water close to hot, or maybe even handle certain items as your fingertips will hurt.

The best thing to do, get $20 bucks and go to a nail tech to get them removed the correct way, by soaking your nails in Acetone, not nail polish remover.

How long do your fingernails need to be before you get fake nails put on?

I just cut my real nails off, but now I want to get fake ones put on. Do I need to let them grow out, or can I just go and have them put on now?How long do your fingernails need to be before you get fake nails put on?
Yes, you can put them on whenever you want! They'll work even if theyre super-short. Just make sure theyre not extremly long, because your real nail will show through the fake one!

-Best answer please! Hope I helped!

-Carlos_Gomez loverrrr =]How long do your fingernails need to be before you get fake nails put on?
    Hi dixie,

You can have very short nails and still put on artificial nails. It's a tricky business when you start. Perhaps it might be best to get them done professionally. The initial cost is about $40-$50.00, but to keep them up it/s about $15.00.

Either that or you end up getting your fingers stuck together etc. As I say, it takes a bit of practice.
I bite mine to the core, like litterally 1mm of nail!!

and They can put fake tips on them!

Altho they break easily when they are short (not alot of support) but i've put at least 100 sets on in my life.
there's no problem. you can have the fake nails like this.
You should be fine...They cut your nails down, anyway, before they put a new set on...
it doesnt matter cuz they are professionals and you can get them on at any length so it doesnt matter

Can i have super short nails, and still get fake nails applied at a salon im getting gel or ayrical?

Title explains all, also gel nails or acryicl? Can i have super short nails, and still get fake nails applied at a salon im getting gel or ayrical?
Yes you can. If you want to keep your nails short, go for gel. If you want longer nails, go for acrylic. (Not acryicl lol). But be warned: either of these can really screw up your natural nail, and unless you are planning on getting your nails done again, and again, for a while, I don't reccomend you get any type of artificial nail. Also, just to be safe, make sure the person doing your nails does NOT grind your nail down. If they start tell them to stop. And before going to the salon, ask what they use to do gel nails. If they avoid answering, leave, and if they use a powder (called MMA- it's illegal) leave. Also, ask for an MSDS sheet (material and safety data sheet).Again, if they refuse, leave and find another technician. But yeah, fake nails are fun to have, just do it safely. Can i have super short nails, and still get fake nails applied at a salon im getting gel or ayrical?
you can still get the nails. in fact they cut long nails shorter in order to put the nails on. i would get acrylic. thats the only type i have ever gotten and most of my friends get them over gel. hope this helps.
yes. you can. get gel. it's better than acrylic.

How do you get fake nails off?

I got nails for prom in May and I have been trying to get them off for forever.I got them done at a salon,so I can't just yank them off.How can I get them off without hurting my nails or myself? How do you get fake nails off?
Well I wear gel nails. My friend told me it helps to soak your nails in acetone. This may take a while and then as they soften up try filing them. Then take a wooden nail board with a slanted tip and try carefully prying the fake nail from your own nail. You may have to cut your real nail short but don't cut to close to the quick then it may bleed. Good Luck. How do you get fake nails off?
soke them in nail polish remover....works great
yes u could try soaking them in remover but the salon kind depending on the exact type you got may need to be burned off at the salon or taken off a certain way so u won't ruin ur nails. I am not a proffesional on this subject but many of my friends got the same kind u got and they all went to the salon to get them off.

-hope was helpful!! and good luck!!!
Soak in acetone or remover that has acetone!!

    carla
soak them in acetone polish remover it must contain acetone.

    God bless
Cut them down to a little before the quick of your nail. Soak them in acetone nail polish remover. As they get loose lift the white parts a little (as much as they will lift) and put your nails back in the remover. After a couple of lifts they should come right off. You were right not to tear them off.
usually my aunt uses nail polish remover or maybe go back to the salon where you got them done and see if they can take them off
you can go to a nail salon and they can soak them off

  • What is the best kind of fake nails to get?

    Kiss ever lasting french nails

I heard they were good. I wouldn't know ='(What are the cheapest fake nails, and are easy to maintain and look great ?
I'd just grow them out and get a manicure for about 10 bucks.

I wouldn't recommend those glue-on nails you can buy at the drug store. If you don't apply them correctly, you can get a bacterial infection to form underneath your nail, or damage them some other way. They don't really look that good either.
welll if u go to the famiy dollar u can get fake nails cheep and they do stay on cuz i had a competition with my cuzin who spent $40 to get them professionally and hers stayed on for 1 1/2 weeks and mine stayed on for 3 weeks :) plus if u buy clear ones u can paint then and there is like 100 nails in a set so 10 times 3 weeks that gives u 30 weeks of fake nails :) hoope i helped

Is it bad for you to wear fake nails for too long?

I keep getting my nails done so that I've basically had fake nails on constantly for over 2 years now. They aren't very long and they are ';pink %26amp; white'; so they look professional and I am totally addicted to them and want to keep them. Only thing is that I'm starting to worry that having my real nails covered with acrylic all the time will eventually cause some problems. Anyone have problems with fake nails being on too long? If so, what?Is it bad for you to wear fake nails for too long?
I am a professional nail tech, and have been for four years. It is recommended to have the whole set taken off and a new set put back on every 6-9 months. Take them off for @ a week or so then have a new set reapplied.

Your nails don't have to breathe to grow. They actually grow faster when they are ';protected'; epically by an artificial nail.

Also, Acrylic is not filled with bacteria. It is when your artificial nail starts to lift off of your natural nail bed and water gets under there, that is when bacteria can start to grow. You will get mold from that. Mold is something that will just grow out, nothing else.It is really hard to get a fungus from acrylic. It is a condition mainly found on toes.

No matter what type of ';enhancement'; you put on your nail it will make your natural nail underneath weak.

One last thing. Make sure you go somewhere that is licensed, clean, and uses nail acrylic. You can actually contract so many diseases from places (hepatitis, AIDS....). There have been many documented cases of women having their nails literally fall off because their acrylic was dental acrylic. You definitely get what you pay for. Nail acrylic is more expensive than dental acrylic. Hint hint. I am sorry this was so long, but I hope I gave you info you can use. Just be safe!!!Is it bad for you to wear fake nails for too long?
You can try getting them removed, because you can get a fungus under the nail from using water 2 often.
YES CAUSE THEN YOU LOOK FAKE
I have worn acrylic nails for 15 years without any problems.

I have tried wrapped nails, solar nails, gel nails, but I always go back to the acrylic.

I soak them off every few months and I have never noticed any damage.
    its fine. dont wrry.
No, unless you used super glue!
I wore nails for about two years and I decided to have them taken off. Well, one of my nails ripped off in half and they were all paper thin. They hurt for a while. But everyone is different. I have known people who have had them on for at least 5+ years and have had no problems.
The problem with fake nails is your real nail aren't getting any air so under the acrylics, your nails are probably weak and brittle. Also fake nails carry loads and loads of bacteria, so if you work in a resturaunt or a hospital, you might want to reconsider them.
Yes, it is bad for you to wear fake nails for more than a couple of days. Your own nail bed is fragile already and by gluing fake nails over them, you are damaging your own nail bed and stopping the nail bed from getting the necessary oxygen to get to the live nails. The longer you wear fake nails, the more damage you do to your own nails. They become very thin, brittle and even more fragile. You also run a very high risk of getting a bag fungus under the artificial nail tha will ruin your nail bed entirely.

Only wear artificial nails if you never plan to use your own nails again.
it can ruin your own nails, cause they have to have air to live and if you keep them covered up all time they can cause your nails to not grow. if they are not put on right you could get a fungus and get very sick.

How do you get contacts out with fake nails?

I had gotten my nails done professionally and I wonder whats the best way to get them out with out tearing the contact or hurting your eye.How do you get contacts out with fake nails?
take your 2 pointer fingers, and put them on each corner of your eye like, pointing to the middle of your eye, now push in, but not too hard. How do you get contacts out with fake nails?
That's hard because you normally use like the part of your finger where police do the finger prints. (Only situation I could think of about that part of your finger). So you could hurt your eye with fake nails. I would say fake nails not a good idea.
The only way I could figure out how to get them out was by rubbing my eye until the contact came out ( like the way a child rubs them when they're sleepy ) I tried to use my nails but instead ended up scratching my eyeball - and that sure doesn't feel too good!
Use the ';roll'; method where you quickly flick your bottom eyelid up to dislodge the contacts, and it should come out, but this is quite hard to master. Or you can just cut your nails.
    VERY CAREFULLY

How long does it take to get fake nails?

When you are at the salon, getting them put on, how long does it take? Are we talking a couple of hours or longer? I want them done but I want to know all the upsides and downsides about them first. Any information would be helpful! How long does it take to get fake nails?
depends what design you want on them, if it's just a french manicure, should be around 20 minutes or so. my advice is, don't get them done frequenctly as they can damage your nails. How long does it take to get fake nails?
I took my gf to the salon to get her fake nails put on for prom (not painted). Wandered around with my friend for maybe 45 minutes before her friend and her were finished but she waited around for a bit for her friend to get done. It all just depends on who does them. I'm sure if you got someone slow it could take over an hour but if you get someone good maybe 30 minutes.
for me it took less than an hour. i was surprised cuz i thought it would take longer.

they are really cute and fun to have...

the only problems i had with them was it was hard to text, but you get used to it!
every time i get mine it takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

it all depends though. if your design is simple and sometimes it takes longer if the person doing your nails likes to talk a lot.

What is the easiest way to remove french tip nails? Or fake nails in general?

I have a full set of nails (French) i am trying to remove myself. How can I easily remove themWhat is the easiest way to remove french tip nails? Or fake nails in general?
Do NOT peel them off, thats half the reason why people think false nails ruin real nails.

Removal depends what nails you have, acrylics (liquid and powder) need soaking off in acetone, gels are buffed off but you could try acetone soak off and home stickies can be removed by soaking in nail varnish remover (one that contains some acetone)

After removal treat your fingers and nails to a decent hand and nail cream and use cuticle oil on your nails and cuticles. What is the easiest way to remove french tip nails? Or fake nails in general?
i know it hurts, but i just like to peel them off, it works best if u r in a pool for a long time, or when they need filling really bad.

it is easiest, though, to just have them professionally taken off. good luck!
The proper way is to soak them in nail polish remover for about 5 minutes.

A hot water soak may just make them soft, but nail polish remover (acetone) should actually dissolve them. At least partially.
Try to find some acetone. Your local beauty supply store might have some. Then they will dissolve off. Also, try to file them off with a nail file after soaking them for a while.
pour nailpolish remover in the cap, and soak your fingers in individually (it could take awhile so you might wanna watch TV or something) and every couple minutes see if you can pull it off.
First, rub nail polish remover on the and the soak them in hot water for a while.
cut them because peeling them is torture.

Will nail Polish remover take my fake nails off.?

so my nails are done from the nail shop, but usually they pop rite off if i dont go in and get a fill. will nail polish work to take them off??Will nail Polish remover take my fake nails off.?
Yep! pour some polish remover into 2 small dishes, large enough to fit all 5 finger tips, and let them soak for about 45 mins...then use a metal nail cleaner, push it under each nail and they will pop right off. Will nail Polish remover take my fake nails off.?
Its best to use pure acetone. Acetone based polish remover will work, but its diluted, and thus not as strong or as effective as pure acetone.
i'm not sure, but i've heard that if you soak your fingers in nail poilish remover for a while, it'll make them easier to pull off.
    Yes.

    Try to get plain acetone.

Fake nails question for someone who puts them on themselves?

I want to make my nails look nice for the holidays but lately I haven't been letting them grow out like I normally do. I want to use fake nails but everytime I do they hurt the sides of my fingers. Am I using too big a nail, could that be why? I don't want to get them professionally done because I can do just as good a job without paying more. Also, what's the best way to glue them on without getting the glue all over? Please Help, thanks!Fake nails question for someone who puts them on themselves?
You are probably using to big of a nail and too much glue with them, make sure the nails fit your fingers and only put the glue on the main part where you know it will be on your finger - not the sides. For any glue messups just have a q-tip with some rubbing alchohal or nail polish remover close by , it gets it off.Fake nails question for someone who puts them on themselves?

Most of my nails are bitten to the cuticle and have been for 40 years. I wondered how I can apply fake nails, in an effort to stop biting them, if I have no nail, just skin to glue them to? Is there a glue that won't hurt the skin on my fingers where the nail once was?How can I glue on fake nails if I have no nails?
Ouch! no you dont wanna stick any glues onto your bare skin since they are extremely harsh and will hurt really bad when the fake nail is peeling off which is eventually will. Plus the fake nail wont even stick onto your skin due to the oil on the skin. I suggest you get the nail polish sold at any drug stores that gives your nails/skin a very bitter bad taste so that each time you are about to nibble, you will almost gag and slowly learn not to bite your nails. I have seen that used on small children even and it works wonders. Try that but please stay away from any glue onto bare skin. Good luck. How can I glue on fake nails if I have no nails?
I'd let a professional do it. You don't want to ruin your nails.

Or mind over matter. I used to bite my nails too. I started putting nail polish on them to keep me from biting them. It worked for me. it's been years since I've bit my nails.

If you want something bad enough, you'll do whatever it is to get it.
No because they need something to hold onto and when they would pop off or when you would rip them off then it would also take the skin being very painful.

but a tip is to try dipping your fingers in vinegar, it's gross so you wont want to chew your nails.

Can you have square fingernails without fake nails?

I really like the look of those square fingernails with the french tips on them, but I'm not so crazy about the idea of getting fake nails. Is it possible for me to just grow them long and shape them that way and get them done at a salon or something? Does anyone else even do this, or does everyone just use fake nails? Can you have square fingernails without fake nails?
When i went to get my nails done i asked for the french tip but not the fake nails and when they were making it look square they didn't clip any of the nail off they just filed them from the sides a bit and then at the top made it all square (like straight) so i guess that also makes it easy to pass the nail polish on the tip of the nails. Well they did turn out good! Hope i helped! Can you have square fingernails without fake nails?
well my nails are really long, well not scary long but lots of people @ my school think there crazy long but anyway, i like the same square shape for nails and i just use a toenail clipper and clip the end of my nails and use a nail filler to make it squarish, u dont really need to go get them done 2 look like that but I guess if u want them to be french painted, but keep your nails healthy, and dont keep them costantly painted cause they'll get nasty looking when u take the nail polish off
You can try to grow them out and clip them and then shape them into square form. I have square finger nails. I do have to shape them in the form I like.

What is the difference between these fake nails?

I want to get french tips but I would like to know What is the difference between acrylic, solar and gel nails? What is the difference between these fake nails?
    Found this in another question...

    - Acrylic nails are made by the tech combining a monomer (the liquid), and a polymer (the powder). The resulting mixture is then applied to your nails either over plastic tips (the easy way, I hate tips!!!), or is sculpted over your nails to create the nail enhancement. The mixture of liquid and powder hardens in minutes through means of an exothermic reaction. Basically, they harden once they are combined together and are exposed to air, and body heat (from your nails). The end result is a long lasting, durable nail.

    - Solar nails. This is simply a term used most commonly by these discount salons to describe what amount to acrylic Pink %26amp; White nails. In short, Solar nails ARE acrylic nails. The only thing different is the colors used during the application. MANY peolple mistakenly believe that Solar Nails are something other than acrylic, They think that these nails are stronger, longer-lasting, non-yellowing, and overall- just better than acrylic nails are. Well, as a licensed nail technician who has been around for many years in the nail industry: I'm telling you the truth. They are acrylic nails. No better, no worse. But, they are acrylic nails either way. Don't be fooled by this misleading term. And don't let anyone tell you they are better than acrylic nails. If they do, then just try this one out on them and see what their response is. Simply ask them ';What makes these solar nails better than acrylic nails?'; I bet they have no idea, because they don't know the answer! They are just going by what other people, and techs have told them. Well, don't believe it. Moving on...

Gel nails. These are nails which are made from chemicals which are very similar to acrylic nails are made from. In fact, both are from the family of chemicals called the acrylics. The difference is that one is a liquid and a powder that is applied to your nails, and air hardened. The other is a gel - literally. The UV gel is applied to your nails in several thin layers. Each individual layer of UV gel MUST be cured under a UV lamp for 2 minutes. There is NO liquid and powder used ion the application of UV gel nails.

  • Are there any better alternatives for fake nails than acrylic?

I have a bad habit of biting my nails. In an effort to help them grow, I sometimes get acrylic nails. Are there any other options that are better for my real nails rather than acrylic? Are there any better alternatives for fake nails than acrylic?
Yes! Try glue-on fake nails. They'll last for 10 days or longer and when they come off they won't harm your nails a bit.

    My favorite brands are Broadway Nails ( http://www.broadwaynails.com or http://www.kissusa.com ) and Nailene ( http://www.nailene.com ).

The nails are availible at Walmart, Walgreens, K-Mart, Boots, Target, and a lot of other pharmacies and such.

Good luck! Are there any better alternatives for fake nails than acrylic?
well, i just got solar pink and white nails the other day and i was thinking about acrylics .. these nails use a pink and white powder so it's a french manicure but doesn't chip off or anything because it's not airbrush .. also they stay shiny ! so it looks and feels natural .. i compared mine to my cousins and they looks 20x better ! .. They're pricy but they are worth it because it feels like your own nail .. best of luck %26amp; go with these if you want a natural nails that are better than using acrylics ! best of luck(:
then just STOP BITING YOUR NAILS
I saw this new product that you just put on your nails like a sticker and break the extras off. It looks real and it's not expensive. You can find it in the beauty department of the store and it'll last up to 2 weeks.

Fake nail glue & kitchen counter top accident..help?!?

Okay, I'm usually very careful when putting fake nails on, but today I rushed, and sat at the kitchen counter to put them on. I accidentally got glue on the counter, and thought it would come right off, but it didn't, and now theres a big white mark on the counter. Any suugestions as to how I could get it off?Fake nail glue %26amp; kitchen counter top accident..help?!?
try some paint thinner...it may take a while to get it off but this usually does the trick..not sure if finger nail polish will work but give it a trya nd make sure it has ascetone in it..Fake nail glue %26amp; kitchen counter top accident..help?!?
    use nail polish remover.
Assuming that it's a laminate (e.g., formica) or Corian counter, you can use Acetone or Lacquer Thinner. If it's granite or marble, consult with a granite dealer.
    Acetone nail polish remober.
put alcohol on it and then scratch it off

How do i apply fake nails to a fake hand?

I brought a fake hand and some fake nails that go with them, they are the ones that slip into the hand. It doesn't come with any instructions, so i haven't got a clue what to do. Any help please? How do i apply fake nails to a fake hand?
SUPER GLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!How do i apply fake nails to a fake hand?
Do you mean one of those plastic hands beauty students use to practise doing nails on? If so when I used them in college you'd slip the plastic nail bed on until it clicked then apply the false nail using the glue provided like when you put a false nail on natural ones. Method might vary depending on brand though. Help this helps.
fA fake hand!!?? Why? Do you have one missing? Nees a bit more info. I was going to suggest super glue...but if they slip in...well then just slip them in!

How can I get my fake nails to stay on longer?

I am just going to get some from Walmart and do them myself but does anyone have any tips or tricks to help them stay on longer? :)How can I get my fake nails to stay on longer?
Make sure you use good glue. I'm wearing a set right now, and I put them on two-and-a-half weeks ago. A couple of them kept falling off until I switched my glue; I'd been using an old bottle of Sally Hansen, but it wasn't sticking. Since I switched about a week ago to Nailene, they've been fine. I got a two-pack of their Ultra Quick glue for $1.78 at Wal*Mart. I'm also wearing Nailene nails, and they're pretty durable. In fact, I guess you could say that they're tough as ... nails.

    (Ba-dum-bum.)

Also, don't use too much glue, or the nails won't stay on. Too much glue creates a layer between your natural nails and the fakes, and it's \really\ easy for them to get pulled off that way. (I found that out the hard way last week.)How can I get my fake nails to stay on longer?
    No problem. Happy to help!

add more glue and buff it.
no but they usually last 2 weeks and that is best becuase they can make your nails weak and you don't want fake nails on any longer. i usually just have mine for a week and then take them off. a good way to take them off would be warm water and acetone nail remover. get a bowl of warm water and bowl of acetone nail remover. put the acetone in the bowl of warm water and try not to get the water and acetone to mix cuz that is not good. they put your nails is the bowl of acetone for about 30min to an hour and then after that they should come off easily. everyone usually saids don;t get acetone nail remover but i fine if you don't then you have to stick your fingers in a bowl of non-acetone nail remover for longer than an hour. Yeah so that is how you take them off. and nails usually last from 2 week to a month.
    dont bite them

How do i remove my fake nails?

I got permanent french nail for my friends sweet 16 2 weeks ago and there starting to grow out and there getting kind of dirty and old looking. I know i could get them filled in but i don't feel like going threw that. How can i take them off myself without damaging the nail? How do i remove my fake nails?
soak them for 5 mins. in acetone. How do i remove my fake nails?
if it was me, i would use pure acetone remover. it is cheap and u can get it at most stores like walmart..etc
Soak them in nail polish remover w/ acetone or go back to the salon where you got them done and they will do the same thing only charge you.
soak them in nail polish remover (the acetone kind) or the drugstore in your area should sell fake nail remover, which is pure acetone and will worke much faster BUT!, if you have sensitive skin this is not a good option for you because it will hurt your skin

How can i keep my fake nails on?

I am terrible for biting my nails! I found the best way of daling with the problem is fake nails which i do myself.

I use the glue that comes with the nails and they stay on perfectly for about a day but the next morning they're falling off every 5 minutes lol

So in the end i get so fed up with sticking them back on that i give up.

Any surgestions on a better glue or something? How can i keep my fake nails on?
I would go to a salon and have either Acrylic or Silk nails put on. They cost 拢20-40 per set, but its less hassle than the do it yourself kits that tend to come off after a few days, or cause mould under the false nail, that really is not attractive when you take the false ones off.

Be warned if you keep the acrylic nails for sometime, your nails underneath will be soft and split easily. How can i keep my fake nails on?
You can get nails done professionally which will last but personally I don't think they look that good. Also keeping false nails on for any length of time wrecks your own.Do you put your hands in water? It could be this that stops the glue from bonding for longer.Best plan would be to stop biting your own. wear gloves to cover them up until they are reasonable and /or to stop you biting them!Apply falsies only if you are going somewhere REALLY special and remove them afterwards.Re-apply next time.If necessary use strengthener on your own nails and SIT ON YOUR HANDS!!!!You'd be surprised how fast they will grow.
    Try some fake glue.....
Just get acrylics put on. The money you spend is worth the suffering you go through trying to keep the cheap ones on. They look much nicer and it'll be even more effective at keeping you from biting you nails.
molegrips, you'd look like edward scissor hands, wierd eh?
You have to make sure that your nails are very clean and dry when you put the nails on. You may want to go to a beauty supply store and purchase a tube of professional nail glue. I never had any luck using the self-adhesive nails, I always went and got my nails done, lasted 2 weeks and no problems.
All my friends like the kiss nails. They say that they normally last up to, or longer than 1 week!

I went and got a french manicure at a nail salon last Friday. I don't have fake nails, they're real.?

I tried taking off the polish with nail polish remover and none of it will come off my nails. It's like they used something that they put over fake nails. I went back there and complained and they didnt' do anything for me. They could barely understand what I was saying. Because of course all nail salon places don't speak ^$(*$%26amp;%%26amp; English. I'm very angry and feel my nails are ruined and I don't know how to get it off. They look like crap now. I think the brush they used on me had acrylic stuff on it and all that is now all over my nails. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!I went and got a french manicure at a nail salon last Friday. I don't have fake nails, they're real.?
you can soak it off with acetone, but the prep they did to make the acrylic adhere will still make your nails look crappy. after soaking-off, just file/buff and coat with clear 'til they're grown-out.I went and got a french manicure at a nail salon last Friday. I don't have fake nails, they're real.?
first try removing it again (sometimes the put multipliable coats on to make it stay on longer) or there might be a special nail polish remover that you can buy (it might be more expensive) or you could find another place (like the place wear you get your hair done) where they do speak English and are professional and have them remove it .... best of luck
soak them use a nail filler and then use alchool
Use Acetone , you can find it at any drug store .

    Hope this helps :)
Try to gently buff it off. Then put a mineral coat back on. Then use a gentle top coat to keep them safe from breaking. I wonder if they use a type of spray paint? I've had that done to me before and regular Acetone nail polish remover wouldn't get it off. I actually had to use a cotton ball and some paint thinner on them. It was horrible. I'll never go to another nail salon where I can't effectively voice my opinion because the technician can't understand me.....It unsafe for us!
It's called an acrylic overlay. It will strengthen your nails, but if you want it removed, they can soak your nails and get it off for you.
ya that happened to me. they usually put like 50 top coats on it's really weird. so good luck with your problemo♥♥♥
    nail file and paint thinner.
Use a nail polish remover with acetone in it.
Use acetone nail polish. If there is acrylic on your nails it will take it off. It may take a few tries. Soak your nails in it for a few minutes if neccesary. Then buff your nails with one of those files that has 4 different grits on it starting with the roughest down to the softest. This should take all of the polish and any acrylic off.
use polish remover with acetone in it. There not good with real nails at those places! Ive went there before to get my nails done (real) and they did a horrible job and just constantly harassed me and told me I should get fake ones.
    OMG

    ''OMG''!!!!!!!!!!!
when your nails grow it will come off... because the new nail will wont have the stuff on it. so just cut your nails every week. try a nail filer too.
Try a nail file and more remover. I'm pretty sure they used acrylic.
Go to a different nail salon (not the one u got your nails done from) and ask to get them removed. If for some reason they say something like,';no, u need fill!'; be like no i don't I want them OFF. but don't let them give you a fill. If they refuse to take your nails off, go to the drugstore and purchase, ';sally hanson helathy cuticles now!'; (it's in a tiny orange container) and put your nails in there, then try and rip your nails off with plyers.
bleach, water, viniger, rubbing alcohol, look up how to get fake nail coating off
Well dont use too much products or else your nails really will be ruined. i would say try a ittle bit of the nail filer and nail polish remover. some times if you paint over tha french maincure with another color and then try to take it off wiht the nail polish remover, the paint under it, in this case french maincure, usually comes off with it. other than that i would have to say it will come off eventuaally. good luck :)
If it has acrylic in it, try soaking them in nail polish remover for a few minutes. Best type is the one with acetone in it. Good luck.

Isn't it logical to use nail polish remover?
Gross, i know how you feel, sometimes they do a crap job on me and they dont speak english so i cant get a refund. Just boil some water and scrub with baking soda.
nails grow, paint over it and wait for them to grow out. It's not the end of the world, at least you didn't get a really bad hair cut or something that is more noticable like that. How many people's nails do you really notice in a day?

    Girl this is simple:

    1. Wash your hands and dry to get any oil/lotion off nail beds.

    2. Get an emery board and use the rough side to prepare your nails to adhere better to the nails.

    3. Now apply your nails, and voila! No air bubbles.

Does fingr's nail glue work on fake nails? 10 POINTS?

    how long for?

thanks xxDoes fingr's nail glue work on fake nails? 10 POINTS?
Depends on what you mean. They use nail glue at salons for applying professional fake nails, nail glue's also used for putting on fake nails bought at a store Not sure if the glue is different in any big way. However if you mean fake nails bought at a store and nail glue for gluing them on then yeah they'll stay on fine and should last for several days, but that depends on how you use your hands e.g. exercise, typing etc.Does fingr's nail glue work on fake nails? 10 POINTS?
I think so. I am superly into nails, and I use nail glue for fake nails all the time because my nails are short and I bite them. But the glue works. It's just a really messy job.

Do fake nail make your real nails weak?

I am 14 and my mom wont let me get my nails done

i do have really nice nails naturally

but i just want to expirementDo fake nail make your real nails weak?
These people obviously go to unskilled, immagrant owned and operated salons where the workers don't know how to do nails at all. They ';rough'; up your nails for NO other reason than to get an illegal chemical chemical called MMA to adhere to your nails. See, this garbage, and totally cheap crap will not adhere to a nail unless it is held by a mechanical bond. That is the ONLY reason they use dremels (not made for use on nails), and literally tear your nails into shreds. And then they wonder why their nails hurt afterward, and why they supposedly ruin your nails. Let me tell you folks a fact that is well known, but you apparently missed it somewhere along the line: Acrylic (legal, and approved acrylic) does NOT ruin your nails. It is a careless and unskilled nail salon worker that ruins your nails. There is absolutely no need to rough up your nails when the proper chemicals are used. They use it for one reason: because it is so cheap to buy. One gallon of the garbage costs about $30. Compare that to real, approved, and SAFE chemicals. The real stuff costs over $200 a gallon. They use the cheapest chemicals, implements, and files that can be bought. What do you expect for $20? Good, nice looking nails? No way! Look, you pay for cheap nails, and you will get cheap nails. It happens every time. So, if you don't wan them ruined, stay away from the dirty cheap salons that charge low, low prices for nails because you WILL regret going to one. Go to a reputable, and highly experienced nail tech instead who talks out languge, and uses nothing but the best products available. They are out there, you just have to look around and you will find one. You will be glad you did.Do fake nail make your real nails weak?
Yes. Press on nails will not weaken your natural nails, but they fall off quite easily. Acrylic nails will stay on for quite some time, but here is why... they actually file down your real nails, not just length but the entire surface of the nail, making it very thin and weak. And if you get someone who is having an off day they may end up filing the middle of your nail surface down to bleeding (happened to me when I was young). Your nails will grow back eventually, but will look horrible for some time.

I recommend not getting acrylic nails... if you have good nails anyhow, just get a regular manicure. It costs mush less and is hassle free.
depends what kind of fake nails...but then the good professional kind, yeah it damages your nails.. they shave the top of your nails, make it thinner than it could easily break..

i personally think its worth it because it looks really pretty, but thats up to you to decide..

    Personal experience~
hell yea they weaken your nails. i'm 17 and my mom doesn't want me getting that crap done either. and besides why would you want fake nails? almost every girl has fake nails. and it never looks good. i got my nails done a while ago cuz i wanted to ';experiment'; and got them taken off 3 days later. not worth it.
    yeah they make them weak

  • How do you remove fake nails?

I got white tips done on my fingernails at a nail salon. Today i broke a nail. I've had my nails for 2 months now, and i was thinking avout getting a fill, when one of fake nails got torn off, and along with it, part of my real nail! Should i take off my fake nails, and if so how?How do you remove fake nails?
soak them in alcohol. How do you remove fake nails?
Alcohol does not work to remove acrylic nails.

Do not chew them off or rip them off.

To start, if the acrylic has a gel coat then you will have to remove that before doing anything else. Take a nail file and file the nails to break the gel seal.

Buy some pure acetone. Pour some into a glass bowl. You can only soak one hand at a time. Soak the nails for about 20 minutes. Without removing the nails from the acetone, use an orangewood stick to scrape off the loosened product. Soak and scrape until all the product is off. You can use a very fine grit buffer to smooth the natural nail when done.
    Very simple sugar!

Go buy some Acetone at any grocery store or beauty supply store.

    Pour it in a bowl

    Grab a pillow

Lay down in front of the TV

Stick your hands in the bowl

Watch your favorite show for 30-45 minutes :)

    Voila!

    Best of luck :)
I always pull them but when they hurt i soak them in acetone, the last time i took them of my nails wore really soft and damage you know how they get the line, but i use a nail treatment and my nails look so good now.
you can go to the nail salon to get them removed or you can soak them in acetone. When you do that you have to work them off with a little nail tool....i think its better to get them taken off professionally
Yeah you should. Start by biting the side of them. Eventualy they will start to peel off. It will hurt because they super glued em but beauty must suffer. :D
    soak them in acetone!!!!!
I got mine done for grad and I just got them taken off at the salon... it cost $21, but it was worth it because they were looking gross ;)
Krisgal00 is right, it will work like a charm.

No. you can get nail remover from boots, superdrug that sort of shop. or you just rub alchol on them but this takes a while and really stings if you get it in a cut.
no but you can take a thin piece of metal like a needle((The not sharp end of course)) and get them off very slowyly..but nails are NOT reusable so why do that?? they wont stick good the next time
Try soaking your hands in warm water ... that should do the trick =)

So that they stay on for the longest time and don't just come off really easily. I'm sick of mine always coming off within a few hours! What is the best way to apply fake nails?
ok make sure your cuticles are pushed back. clip your nails,. take off anything that's on your nails (nail polish, dirt, marker, etc.) wash you hands. then put glue on your nails, not the fake ones, and make sure you press hard when putting them on.What is the best way to apply fake nails?
try to get the nails with glue already on them, and then add more glue on your nail when you put them on.
seriously, follow the instruction manual with the fake nails you will purchase
Why dont you get them done? They stay on from 2-4 weeks usually. By the time you buy all those nails that keep popping off, you can spend that $20-$30 on a professional job, that will last WAY longer.

For nails at a nail salon where I am (TX) it is $20 for regular painted and $25 for french. Designs cost more but I am unsure how much cause i have never got them. How much does it cost to get fake nails?
When I got my nails done in England at a good place it cost me 50 pounds, and then a year later I did them again in New York, and it cost me 70 dollars. These prices are really high, because I only go for the best, but usually they are 20 pounds or 40 dollars. Also, I got them with a full manicure and treatment under the nails, so it's more expensive and much more glamorous and beautiful.

At like some of those weird cheap stores you can get fake nails for even like one dollar, but like probably most of them will be 10 dollars, but you have to be careful because if you get the glue on yourself, it's very sticky and it hurts. Overall, I would not recommend you to them yourself, just go to a place and pay to be beautiful.. it's painful for your wallet, but if you do them yourself, its painful for your body and later removing them is horrible.
Prices vary depending on where you live. Please keep in mind that getting fake nails damages the natural nail. Especially if you continue to get the nails for years. I would only do this for special occasions or as I did to quit nail biting. After a few months, take them off and buy a good nail hardener and keep your cuticles oiled.
i just got them last week at Solomon pond mall at 90's nails and it is 25 for all one color nail and then its 30 for a design or the tip polished i got a yellow v with a double lined stripe that was black with silver in the middle they were so hott.btw i decided to take them off cause they were annoying me and it hurts so bad to take them off and they completly killed my nails i mean they are so thin and they have white lines all over the nail!! so yea i recomend not to get them!

Do I have to completely remove my fake nails and get a new set every time my tips grow out?

I've been getting white tips and gel nails for a while now but I'm still new to the whole artificial nail process. It is so much trouble to get the gel nails taken off and replaced, but my nails aren't strong enough once the tips grow out. Is there any other way?Do I have to completely remove my fake nails and get a new set every time my tips grow out?
Ya I think now answer mine PLEASEDo I have to completely remove my fake nails and get a new set every time my tips grow out?
I've been getting acrylics for five years now and have had no problems with them. I've never gotten pre-made white tips, only painted tips so I'm not sure how they work those. Though I do put this awesome nail treatment stuff on my cuticles and under the nail itself to keep everything healthy and strong. It's called Sally Hansen Nail Nutrition and it comes in a green bottle like nail polish, I put it on twice a day.

    Hope this helps.

Tips for getting your nails done? What design of fake nails should I get?

I am going to a wedding this weekend and have an appointmment today to get my nails done, the dress i am wearing is a hott pink with a silver sash... what nails would i get that would suit this and be classy for the wedding, also any tips on getting nails done?

Thanks babes!Tips for getting your nails done? What design of fake nails should I get?
I would just get french. With the colors you're wearing, it would be easy to make your nails REALLY cute using variations of pink and silver, but since you're going to a wedding and not a school dance, you should probably opt for the more mature french or american style.

If you want to add something unique, just get a stripe of silver underneath the white tip on a french. It'll still look classy. :]Tips for getting your nails done? What design of fake nails should I get?
French manicures always look nice. For something a little extra, ask if you can have a silver line painted above the white to go with your dress.
Just don't match your dress. That's too tacky for a wedding. I would suggest regular French Tip nails. and don't get ones that look too fake.
get a forever frech manicure....airbrush nails w/ designs look tacky especially for a wedding.
you should get ur nails done french BUT instead of white do SILVER, i do this all the time with pink or red and it looks AWSOME!!! u would look stunning with those nails!
get them french but instead of white get them silver. or do hot pink background with a silver tip. or you could just get a french....
    blah...................
