How do you get fake nails off?

i don't have any acetone to soak them in, whats another way to get them off?How do you get fake nails off?
rippin them hurts ! cut them as short as you can and soak them in nail varnish remover ......hot water may work 2 i havent tried that yet

Well, I always use those fake ones from department stores. And I just rip them off. starting from the sides. it works for me.
