Why does nail polish chip so much worse on real nails than fake ones?

I have real nails and it always chips within a few days if I get the cheap stuff. OPI lasts almost a week. Why does nail polish chip so much worse on real nails than fake ones?
Your real nails release moisture. so it lifts the pain, whilst the fake ones don't. Try using a base coat, those can sometimes help the nail polish last longer. Why does nail polish chip so much worse on real nails than fake ones?
Because your real nails are porous. Meaning the absorb moisture. There is shrinking and expanding that happens.
I think it chips worse on your real nails because they are kind of uneven. If you look really close there's like little dents and ridges, really tiny ones. And fake nails are perfectly smooth, so if you scrape your nail up against something it would come off the higher ridges easier, than if it's really smooth.
